OUR CHAPTER SUPPORTS "HATS
FROM THE HEART"
In 2001 our own Tommie
Cochrane saw an article in the paper that described the program that made
hats for cancer patients with hair loss. She had the idea for our
chapter to create painted pins to adorn the hats. Our club project of
painting pins was born and we paint pins
monthly donating them to Ann Hohimer who distributes them with hats where needed.
Our thanks to Ann who brought us all delicious Christmas snacks at our
Christmas party. She did it to thank us for doing the pins. We
thank her for the opportunity to do so.
Ann takes them to
Oncology offices, hospitals, doctor's offices throughout Ventura County and
Santa Barbara County and the Children's Hospital in San Fernando Valley.
Our pins are hand
painted with flowers, animals of all types, sports stuff such as baseballs
and basketballs. Teddy Bears are a great favorite. This year our
club started painting baseball hats for boys and girls.

This is a project of love and brings joy to people in need.
Sincerely,
Barbara Masci-outreach chairperson and chairperson of Hats from the
Heart. For additional information please contact Barbara (805) 495-6505

Cow Pins Completed
For Contest in May
The cows are
fabulous, I am so impressed with the creativity of our members. I will never
think of a cow as just black and white again. At our June Pot Luck we will
award 4 prizes all relating to cows it will be a tough job to choose only
four as they are all winners. In the next few months we will have a bear
contest so think of bear ideas.
